Umani Ronchi was founded over 60 years ago by its namesake near the village of Cupramontana, in the heart of the Verdicchio Classico DOC. Now into its third generation of family ownership, the specialise in what central Italy does best: vibrant, fruit-driven red and white wines. The 2023 Montipagano Montepulciano d’Abruzzo from Umani Ronchi is a vibrant expression of organic viticulture in Abruzzo. The nose is inviting, offering an intense bouquet of strawberries, blackberry, plum, and delicate floral notes such as lilac. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, showcasing juicy red berry flavours balanced by elegant, well-rounded tannins. Subtle herbal nuances and a touch of spice, derived from partial oak ageing, add complexity. The finish is clean and lingering, leaving a fresh, fruity impression.​
